Populations and Health Problems

Aging
Population aging is one of the most significant demographic facts affecting the demand for and use of health and long term care services now and in the future. CHC has a wealth of research expertise in health and aging, ranging from health care financing and delivery to self-management of chronic illness in elderly populations. Research areas include:

Increasing the physical activity level of older adults;
Cultural differences in living with chronic illness;
Effectiveness of substance abuse and mental health services to the elderly; and
The impact of state and federal policies on long term care and community alternatives.
