Panel on Health Insurance Problem

Some 42 million Americans currently have no health insurance. In addition to individual hardship, this situation creates substantial societal problems.

The UCSF Center for Health and Community on Monday, Feb. 4, 3 to 5 p.m., will host a panel of faculty and community leaders to discuss the implications of lack of health insurance to individuals and society, describe some solutions, and evaluate whether these solutions will be enough. The event will be held in N 225 (School of Nursing Building). A reception will follow.

This event, titled "Why Not Everyone? It's Time for Action on the Uninsured," is being undertaken in conjunction with the national campaign by the Association of Academic Health Centers to raise awareness of the problem of the uninsured.

The event is free, however, reservations are requested. Those planning to attend may call 415/476-7408.
